I just received 5 cases of Nature's Variety canned Instinct . They were shipped via UPS which doesn't have air conditioned trucks. The temperature is 90 degrees today with decent humidity and the cans arrived warm. Last year the same retailer shipped in 100 degree weather and the cans were hot when I received them. I called Nature's Variety and they said that the food doesn't spoil in high temperatures but I wonder about the efficacy of the vitamins and nutrients. All I know is that the food looked like a mushy stew as if it had been boiled rather than the pate it's supposed to be. The online retailer replaced all the cases when I explained the situation.
If the warms cans still look like a pate rather than the mush they looked like last year, do you think the food is still palatable and contains the proper nutrients?
I've explained to the retailer that they shouldn't ship during extremely hot weather if the trucks aren't air conditioned or at least let the consumer select the shipping date based on an extended forecast.
They said it currently can't be done.
