Open mouth panting after laser light play

I don't want to alarm anyone, and it may have just been coincidence. A few years ago, we adopted a young cat, probably not yet a year old. After one vigorous play session, she was panting like crazy. I was totally freaked, but she did calm down, and I stopped playing so hard with her. However, not long after that, she got sick with what I thought was probably a kitty cold. I took her to the vet and her temperature was around 104-105. Bottom line is, she had FIP and passed soon after that. Like I said, the panting may have just been coincidental, and I hope everyone's kitten in this thread is just fine.
