Most of you know I work for Toys R Us. As you might guess, this is our "silly season." The warehouse is essentially working around the clock, and the drivers are working up to their maximum allowable hours, taking a 34-hour break, and doing it again.
I got home about 10 last night. The bid I was assigned to had a load going to Houston only 2 hours later, but I was out of hours, so some other driver had to take it. Then I had a load tonight that needed to be covered, but they were short on drivers. They said I might have to do it; if so, it would mean I would have to take a day off in the middle of the week. They called about midnight last night to let me know it's covered.
So Monday night, I'm going to The Woodlands (Houston) and Arlington. Tuesday night I'm going to Katy (SW Houston). And Wednesday night I'm going to Houston again. I should be done Thursday morning, and off for a well-earned rest until next Monday.
