On the Phone

I just remembered a call I got once at home-

Male- Listen, I don't appreciate you calling me..

Me: who is this?

Male- don't play dumb, I've got caller ID. I know it's you.

Me: Sorry, but you've got the wrong number * I hang up* as he starts to swear at me. I *69 the guy back and let it ring a few times, and hang up.

My phone rings, I ignore it, let the machine pick up..

He leaves a message: Uh... I'm really sorry, Uh... I got the wrong number and I didn't mean to be rude... groveling etc..

I guess he misdialed his caller ID the first time!

I get dumb phone calls all day long... my favorite was this...

"Good Evening, Stop & Shop, this is Liza, how can I help you?"

"Is this Stephanie?"

"Yes... I just call myself Liza when I answer the phone..."

"Oh, okay... hi, Stephanie..."

I have two stepdaughters who work as night-shift customer service reps for a major bank. You should hear some of their call stories. As much trouble as some of these people have balancing their checkbooks, it's amazing they can dial an 11-digit phone number and get it straight.
