This is the first time I've seen him with a catnip filled toy. I think he liked it. He caught my finger with a claw when I picked it up. That'll teach me.

- Wonderful video! If you look carefully at 1:58, you'll see Oliver roll onto his right side and stare right into the camera. What he's saying to you is, "you should grow this stuff fresh, out in the yard, and under sodium lights in the house, all Winter long!"
A question prompted by what Oliver did on the vid. Why do cats suddenly stop mid - play or mid anything, to have a quick wash and brush up. I've noticed it with all my cats.

- It's exertion-triggered. Cats cannot perspire to cool themselves after the fashion of their canine compatriots, so while dogs pant, kitties rely upon the saliva spread across their fur, which, by evaporating, helps cool them in warmer weather and when their body temperature rises, as in during strenuous exercise.
