I've been introducing cats for many years now, and I know it takes time and patients, but my Oliver Wendell is a different story! I rescued him 2 years ago when he was a kitten(he's the latest rescue and has never had to welcome a newbie yet), and he's been very protective, posessive, and jealous of any one that comes near me. If one of the other cats or the dog comes near me when he's around, he lets out a high pitched cry and bats them in the face( no claws) and runs back to me, proud as a peacock! He's my little shadow and chases me from room to room...in fact, he's laying here on my mouse right now, LOL!
This is my problem. Our newest rescue sahara, is a sweet little kitten, and all the other cats have just accepted her with out any friction. But not Oliver! I knew he'd be just terrible, but I never expected him to be terrible and horrible and nasty to her! We've been keeping her in my daughter's bedroom, but she ventured out a little when my daughter wasnt looking and had the door open a little. Oliver attacted her so badly that she was bleeding on her paw. And then he ran and hid under my bed and hasnt come out no matter how much I've sweet talked to him. Like I said, it's going to take time, but I dont know if he'll ever accept her in his home! Any idea's about how handle this?
