I need to vent to someone, or at least get this out of my brain.
I've been working at my new job for the last 2 months or so. I work at a small coffee shop owned by a woman in her late 20's. She has a fiery temper, a fake smile and is pretty darn demanding of her staff. My major concern with the job is the fact that we get our weekly schedules for Monday on Sunday evening, which proves difficult to have any kind of life.
So here's the gyst: I'm new, the most reliable woman there quit and got a better paying job so I've been assigned her hours/reponsibility. I've messed up, pretty much continuously and with the fiery temper of my boss, felt bad a whole lot (and apologised a whole lot). Regardless of this, I've been assigned the most hours out of the entire staff and usually end up working with a woman that I like rather a lot (who's been working there 2 years).
Today I got my weekly schedule X2 (due to christmas) and an email that was sent out to all of us talking about how unhappy she has been with the way the store has been running the last few weeks and how she's taking more hours to try to sort things out. Basically she's saying the Cory and I have done a poor job.
I'm just so tired of being in trouble and judged. One of my family members told me last night that I should recognise that it's not "my stuff", that she's just spewing negativity onto me and to not take it in. It's so hard to have bosses judgements bounce off though.
Are there good bosses out there? Am I stuck in the "work for yourself or work for a meany" situation? *sigh* I wish I could figure out what to go back to school for so that I wouldn't be so concerned about these minimum wage jobs where they overwork AND underpay you.
So there's my confusing rant. I hope you can make some sense of it.
Thanks for listening
Jess
