I have not let something hold me back,my pituritary dwarfism which I was diagnosed with this when I was 6.Mom noticed I stopped growing first and then it was with dad seeing it too.Took me to the doctor which I was referred to a specialist.Did the tests,it was pituritary dwarfism having issues with my pituritary gland. It was tough for me for growing up,bullied and picked at ages 13 and 14 which it was taken care.I have good friends in my life that learned about me.My two younger brothers, they were always asked I was their younger sister and said no.They see me like any normal big sister.Dad made my life easier, made a couple steps so I can get up to a sink and many uses.I do drive, pedal extension on the gas and brake. My son is great about it,says I am like any normal mom having childish eyes including the voice.Have watched I Am Shauna Rae whom has this too

I know a few people with pituitary dwarfism and it doesn't change the fact that they are nice, intelligent people who are happy. I'm glad you aren't letting it hold you back, people who bully are the most insecure ones in the bunch IMO. :hugs:

This might be what my sister has. One doctor suspected dwarfism but there were no tests done. This was in the probably very early 60s. She had meningitis two years in a row (both kinds) and we thought that was why she stopped growing. She is 4'6", very small hands, very small feet (takes a kid size shoe). The meningitis wiped out her hearing in one ear, but did not affect her mental capacity at all. Very bright. And my very best friend.

I had a handful of friends growing up with various types of special needs/differences, and they were the best friends ever and came up with the coolest backyard games because they were smart enough to know you didn't need the newest gadget to have fun. We got to playing football one day and didn't have a football. We used one of my ancient hiking boots and the stupid thing got stuck in the top of a huge pine tree. We couldn't get it down and were too scared to tell my parents there was a hiking boot in the tree, LOL! That's been 25+ years ago and it's probably still up there.
