I have a long wooden banister that my cats LOVE to perch themselves on. They have their front nails and the surface is too slippery. I need to put something down that is only semi pepermanent that wont ruin the wood. Any help!?

Thank you so much! However... Idk how well this would work because ours is a flat banister... Kind of like a mantal railing above the stairs. If that makes sense.

I was thinking of a cover similar to that; like one that is used on baby cribs.  The one I have for my son's bed is fairly adjustable.  Can you post a picture of the railing?  You might be able to find someone who can sew one up for you too.
