Hello I have 6, 3 day old kittens and they have fleas on them. Will the fleas hurt them and how do i get rid of them. Momma was a mainly outdoor cat.
Is mom now indoors??? If not...I would bring her indoors with her kittens. I would not recommend bathing mom....however you can ask your vet regarding products that would be safe to use on a nursing mom. It is very important that mom is not allowed back outdoors until her kittens are weaned and she is spayed. Cats are induced ovulators and can become pregnant again as early as a week after giving birth.Originally Posted by kittycouple4
Thank you so much I knew that fleas were bad for the babies but with mama being an outdoor cat there wasn't much I could do. Is there a way to give mama a bath without getting scratched to death she is very skitzy when it comes to water. I am afraid that they will just come right back.
I would contact your vet just to be on the safe side. They might recommend a different flea product since she is due in the next week.Originally Posted by Missy'smomma
Ok I have a question on the subject of fleas. Missy is due sometime in the next week or so. She has been indoors for almost 6 weeks now but I am sure she may have a few fleas. Its hard to tell with how black she is. Can I bathe her before she delivers??? Or would that cause too much stress. I know the lady that had her before me gave her a bath before I picked her up.
