Hi! My name is Lisa! I have always liked cats but never thought about owning one...let alone 2! Spuds is the white kitten and Opie is the orange kitten. I have chickens and was on my way to the coop to let them out and heard meowing in the grove. I didn't think much of it knowing there was probably a neighbor cat with babies in the area. Throughout the week I kept hearing this baby kitten and finally saw him . Turns out he must have been abandoned ...took us several days to catch him and he was not scared once he was caught as he started purring right away. The weather had turned very cold and we made up a spot in the chicken coop for him...totally separated from the chickens. After about 2 days I started feeling bad as he was so little and starved...I brought him into the house. I kept him in the bathroom and through trial and error figured out he didn't like his litter box by his food and once they were moved away from each other he was totally trained!, thank goodness! A trip to the vet and some dewormer and demiting and some baby shots and he was a new kitten. After 2 weeks of getting used to each other I figured Spuds needed a friend so I called the humane society for a girl kitten but both of them advertised were gone already. Opie(originally Thomas) was available for adoption the next day...he hadn't been posted yet as he came in with ear mites. My husband and I went to see him and he came home with us...first night was rough as the kittens fought constantly. I began to wonder if I'd lost my mind bringing home another but within 2 days they were sleeping in the same bed[emoji]128522[/emoji] It's amazing how fast they sneak into your heart! The first picture is the day we found him. He has come a long way.
