Relatively new cat owner here...We've had Miss Tigger about 18 months. We've always owned birds before. A friend of ours found Miss Tigger and her 5 kittens living in the wild, so she took them all in, got Tigger fixed and adopted all the kittens, but no one wanted Tigger!
I had always loved cats, but had allergies, so we figured, we would take her in and she would just be an outdoor cat....
...Well, as we've had her a while, she is spending more and more time inside, and my allergies seem to be going away. She is amazingly affectionate with everyone, which is amazing, since she was a stray.
She usually sleeps in the covered, screened in patio at night, unless the weather gets to cool, or with hurricanes.
She is a Siamese mix with blue eyes, and really unusual striping down her back (hense her name). All in all, we've been very happy with our addition, and she is bothering the birds less.
