Well Hello Everyone
I need help AGAIN. Thank God for the advisors and my friends on here who must chuckle to theirself when they read my posts.
Okay....so my dilemma has been that I have been caring for my mammy in laws "yard cats" since her fall (she's 94) and the brood has grown from 4 to 18. I have been on here for the last two months attempting to find a group to come into my area to spay....there are none.
Well, today a lady called me from one of the Humane Societys (not in my county) and has offered to pay for spay/neutering for them all herself ! Praise God ! She is going to take my ole granny cat and keep her for an "office cat" and she said she will take the kittens and after they are weaned adopt them out.
I am also supposed to bring down the to the vet she mentioned (about 20 miles away) 3 of my oldest females. Well, the granny cat moved her kittens AGAIN. I believe they are still under the trailer next door, because that is where I see her go and come all the time, but we searched and searched and cant find them.
My biggest problem though (and I knew this was going to be a problem) is the one female ole granny had previously. It is the only cat that I have not been able to touch or even get close too. I have no trap available to. I even have called around...no luck. Today I tried to entice the wild lady into a carrier with food, almost caught her once, but I have to say her reflexs are a lot quicker than mine.
I dont wont to delay in getting these animals to the vets as I feel if this person is willing to help me, I need to do all I can to get busy and get them to the vets. Doesnt anyone have any ideas of how I can catch this wild one? I read the posts on ferrals in regard to trapping, but I dont have the time to spend getting this one accustomed to me. Actually, ALL the other cats come to me when called and even come up to me for me to pet them, but this one has always been distant. AND after trying to trap her twice today, I think she is going to be even more gun shy.
Any Ideas??
