Hello, I came across this site when I was doing research on FIP. I am a military spouse and we live in Japan. We brought our beautiful baby girl home in August of last year after freeing her from a pet store here in Japan. I NEVER wanted to buy an animal from a pet store but, something about our little girl told me she needed help.
When we got her she was already 5 months old. I was just looking around to see all the animals and how sad they looked and I noticed through the glass of a dogs cage there was this ball of fur in a cage in the back that was too small for it. It caught my attention right away. All I saw was all that fur coming out every which way from the wire cage. Then her big eyes looked at me with such sadness. I had them take her out of the cage so I could look at her. They told me she was back there because she was being transfered to a different store.
I can't speak Japanese so my sister in law talked to them for me. I came home and talked to my husband and we went back the next day to see her again. We held her and fell in love. We didn't know what her fate was if she was left in that little cage so we saved her and brought her into our loving home.
Kiki is a golden chinchilla Persian with a personality of a dog. We recently found out that she has the corona virus and are completely devastated by this. We got the FIP test done on her but, the vet said the results were unreadable so we are being tortured not knowing if our little girl is dying from this horrible disease. We are saying our prayers every day that she will be fine but, we aren't sure if she will or not. We take her back in two weeks to have her tested again for the FIP.
