Hi I just brought home a cat a couple weeks ago. He's a 4 1/2 year old male. His name is Lt. Commander Data. I had 3 cats throughout my childhood but this is my first pet as an adult.
I'm 31 & i spent a lot time thinking before deciding to take on what I consider to be a very big responsibility. All of the pets we had as kids my parents ended up giving away for one reason or another. That was so traumatic for me each time so I absolutely will not do that. this is a serious lifelong commitment for me. (I've already lined up a friend who will adopt him should I die first).
I've always loved cats but this is the first time I've needed to be solely responsible for another creature's health and happiness. So of course I have a million questions for all the veteran cat owners here thanks in advance for all the advice I'm sure I will get!
tldr: new to the cat life, please help
