Hello! I thought i would introduce myself as i have just joined the forum and intend to use it a lot. I joined because i was having worries about my little girl cat who had a hematoma it turned out.
anyway...My name is Jenny and I have 2 cats, Lily Savage (1 year old Torty and white girl) and Sir Blackcurrant the 2nd (Black moggy, 13 years old).
Lily is a rescue who we resuced at 10 months old - she has had a rough background and we just don't know what happened, apart from that she was kept in a small cage. she is EXTREMELY nervous about noises, movements etc but when it is just me and her she is CRAZY and i'm sure she takes advantage of my soft nature! she is having behavioural problems at the moment though -she savagely bites anyone new who comes into the house, so i have to lock her away. i was hoping for some tips with that on this site. she loves plastic, so no plastic bags or packaging that she could eat are allowed in the house, and her babies are plastic caps - deoderant caps are her fave - any caps she can pop off by herself. she carries them around in her mouth ALL the time.
Blackcurrant is a stray my grandpa found up a tree outside his house. he brought him down although he was not stuck very far up the tree as he was verry small. he had remenants of plastic bag around himself and he was only a tiny kitten. he had ringworm and was sooo thin its suprising he was even able to climb the tree! i can remember it even though i was only 5 when we got him. grandpa contacted the local vets in the area etc but nobody claimed him of course - he had obviously been mistreated and abandoned. He had marks on his tail where it looked like string had been tied around and he has forever harboured a intense fear of plastic bags (complete opposite of lily!) and you have to be very careful using things that make rustly sounds around him, paper etc. He has survived to 13 years with very little problems (he had a urine infection last month and thats all since the ring worm when he was a kitten) and he is a lovely cat, but he is NOT a lap cat, he won't even sit next to you.
so sorry for the long post!!!
