So I just got a new kitty, and he's sleeping in my lap as I write this. He's wild and was born in my neighbors barn, the mother was found dead on the side of the road, and I got him before they took him to the SPCA. I think he's around four to six weeks old. He seems healthy, although I know I still have to get his vaccinations in a couple weeks.
Anyway, I do have a few concerns. First off, I don't know what the best thing I should be feeding him is. He can eat whole food, but has a bit of trouble with it, so I've been putting some hot water on it and letting it get soft, before I feed him it... he likes it just fine but I think I could do better for him, if anyone has any suggestions? I heard somewhere that milk can give him worms, and I was wondering if that was true.
As well, I think my kitty is constipated...? He's learned to use his litter box already, the first day I got him, (I didn't even have to teach him because he's so god-dammed clever) but he seems to have some trouble uh... getting it out. Taking a crap, I'm not so good with medical terms. He makes these cute little squeaks, and has to take a breather half way through? I think it might have something to do with the food I'm feeding him, or is it normal for his age?
