Last night I brought home an adorable brother-sister pair of eleven week old kittens from a local cat rescue group. Now that they've warmed up a little in my bathroom and are starting to play and explore, I'd like to introduce everyone to them! World - meet Artemis (gray female kitten on the left) and Apollo (brown-ish male kitten on the right).
[While Artemis is smaller than Apollo, she is not THAT MUCH smaller than Apollo - but she was farther from the camera, thereby appearing smaller ]
Apollo has become quite the ham, purring and rubbing up on me and kneading and showing me his belly. Artemis was terrified when she first came home, and hid most of the night. Now, she's started to explore and play as well, but doesn't really want to be touched or held (yet, hopefully).
Artemis curled up on top of her carrier
Apollo preparing to explore the bathroom counter
For now, I'm just slowly letting them get settled in the bathroom. They've started eating a bit and doing their business in the litter box, but they aren't eating a lot (I've put out about 3 tablespoons of wet food and it's still not done yet) and I'd like to get them into (many, smaller) more structured mealtimes, rather than free-feeding. Also, they've smelled (and Apollo's seen) my puppy, Ella, but so far I haven't let them meet each other yet. Fingers crossed!
