calicos??? is this a breed. also we don't know his/her breeding, and the mother poppy was a short haired totally black cat. the father the mother's owner doesnt know.
also she/he is fairly fuzzy haired but its quite long will it grow out of it and have smooth hair??

calico is a coat color, restricted to either females or XXY males (hardly ever that, tho!) she's very pretty. her hair might stay fluffy, but Cable's fluffy kitten coat has turned to a sleek short-haired adult coat. Cable (my tabby) has thicker fur than Java (my calico), but it's not long & it's not plush like Mouse's was. so no telling what it'll be like when she grows up. what are you thinking of naming her? any ideas yet?

Actually I don't believe they are a "breed". The colour is referred to as Calico from my understanding, but I'm not a vet or vet tech so don't take my word as law.

Yeah, Calico is a color, not a breed. Just like Tabby, its a pattern. because you can get Calico persians, etc etc.

Shes very cute!

I used to foster a little calico that someone had shaved then threw into someones flooding basement. she ahs no fur on her at all.. just little fuzzies. but when it grew it we found out she was a longhaired kitty.. gorgeous little girl =)

We used to only have tortoiseshells (that's what they're called in Australia) and they are sweet, beautiful looking cats. I love them all and yours is sooooo cute!!

Don't worry about not having a name for her yet, it will come to you as she grows, something she might do or a look she might give you will give you an idea, like with my kitten Booja, I named her that because when she was a kitten I could'nt resist kissing her on her forhead and telling her (in baby talk) "your such a cute little booja booja booja".

Booja (age 21/2 weeks)
