I am glad to have found a forum with lots of good information.
I was just about to post about how my new stray cat has not used the restroom, I saw her jump into the litterbox.. So i guess that is pretty much not an issue. She just defecated.
Anyway, my other question was is she pregnant?
Story: I was in brasil Indiana at my friend Tracy's house, and we were catching minnows to go fishing and a cat appeared. She was very friendly, rubbing up against me and rolling over etc. I looked around and there are very few houses in the area, and I said to my other buddy lance, hey that cat is probably stray, although it is awful friendly. We had seen many coyotes in the area a few weeks prior, so we decided to take her in. She looks ratty and from her teeth (very little tartar) i am going to guess that she's young.
We brought her home and we noticed that her nipples were enlarged. She also has a single lump, on the left side of her belly that is NOT a milk sac, as there is no nipple near it. Anyway, her milk sacs are not full, her nipples are just enlarged... and upon second glancing she looks rather large. Her abdomen is pretty big. However, her bones and her spine are EASILY felt, as they would be in an underfed cat but because of her belly she didn't seem skinny. Is she pregnant, or has she already had kittens?
I already read a few other posts, and when let out she did not make a break for it to go feed any kittens.
Is the lump serious? or no.
As I am 19, Money is a very scarce resource for me, I can't flip money left and right for a stray cat who may have nothing seriously wrong with it.
I own 3 other cats, who I just payed for their visits.
She also did not have any noticable fleas, although i assume she could have worms?
I felt in her abdomen and I thought I felt wierd pattern'd heartbeats but with as little knowledge as I have it may very well have been just her intestines working. I do not feel little bodies inside of her, and least I don't think so.
How far along is she is pregnant? And what about the lump?
Sorry about how long the message was, I do care about my new friend and want to help her any way I can... Only problem is that I am financially unstable at the monent. Any ideas?
Thx,
Jason
