New here and curious about my stray's breed

Hi,
In August of this year, a stray crossed in front of my house meowing loudly. The poor kitty had almost no fur, was skin and bones, and desperate for affection. I was able to give him food and he quickly gained weight and his fur is growing in nicely. I actually am not sure of his breed though. I have owned 12 different cats and I have never had a cat that looks like this. Does anyone here know?

He looks like a beautiful domestic shorthair.

His coloration is red tabby blotched with white.

He is a domestic short hair - red classic tabby and white. And a handsome, HANDSOME boy!!!

What a wonderful job you've done with him, he looks lovely now.

Basically, if a cat has papers it's a purebred, otherwise it's a domestic long or short hair, followed by colour & pattern and those descriptions vary by country.
So some say classic tabby, others blotched for your kitty.

Thank you so much everyone for the replies! I appreciate it so much. I've been wondering for a while. He seems to have a unique personality and never having owned a cat with this type of tabby marks, I wondered if he had some ocicat as well. I will continue to keep him healthy and loved

He's so pretty! (handsome? LOL) I love seeing all the different tabby markings, it's almost like fingerprints!
