My vet was excited about this new option for hyperthyroid kitties, and she told me about since we lost 2 of our elderly girls to it. It's made by Hill's, and apparently is quite promising from what she said. I know I'm not here much anymore (life has gotten so busy! and our other 2 girls are still healthy, plus a new puppy...well, you know how it goes
, but I wanted to pass this on in case someone was interested. It's not a medicine, but a treatment via diet.

"How Does This Food Work?
The food is not medicated. How it works is simple: the thyroid needs iodine to make thyroid hormones. By reducing the amount of dietary iodine, the diseased thyroid does not have the necessary ingredient to 'overproduce' thyroid hormones."
