Okay so I posted on here a while ago about how to introduce a new cat to our resident cat, Boo. Both are young (Boo is 1 year and the new cat is 6 months), female and spayed. Well, on Sunday when we brought her home, she came out of her carrier and immediately went to hide under the couch. Our plan was to slowly introduce them as everyone suggested. Well that didn't pan out as we waited for our new cat to come out from under the couch for a while. Eventually she came out and after a day, she is pretty much running the house. She is used to being around other cats so all she wants to do is see what our Boo is up to. However, Boo is having none of it. She hisses and growls and can't eat or poop peacefully as the new cat follows her everywhere. Boo tends to stay on the dining table (her 24/7 play/sleep spot) and just watches the new cat as she roams. In the mornings the new cat meows loudly and wants our attention and this is the time when Boo is most aggravated with her. Last evening both were in the same room, new cat laying on the carpet and Boo in her cat condo just observing. This morning Boo was trying to use her litter box and the new cat followed her in and so Boo jumped out, not even able to finish her business. We have a Feliway plug in that we set up last night but is there any advice? Will this ever get better? It is hard to imagine a peaceful house with two cats. Any help and help soon would be great! Thank you!
