New Born Baby

Good day! We are expecting our baby early in January and we have two cats.

Based on experience, does anyone have any tips they like to share?

I mentioned this in another thread, but when I was born the family dog hid under a sofa for 2 weeks b/c they made the same coochie coo noises to me as they had to the now-jealous dog. So, my advice would be don’t forget to give your kitty “special” time.

My experience with my cats and my grandchildren was that since the new babies smelled like family, the cats actually welcomed the newbies. It often wasn't that way when I bring in kittens, though, and I think it's probably because the kittens smell like intruders.
