So now Shadow, my 6 and half month kitten, has moved up to trash cans.  Twice this week I have woken up with my trash can in my kitchen on the floor and half the contents on the floor.  At night, when I am awake, he often is trying to do something to the trash can.  I am wondering how I can handle this so that he stays away from the trash can?  I don't want to wake up to my trash can on the floor again!

This trash can was my solution. It has been 100% cat proof. He can't knock it over or get it open.

It's made by Simple Human and it's the Butterfly model.

Nothing else worked for me.
