Good morning..I'm new here, been reading the forum on pregnant cats and newborn kittens. I bought a kitchen scale and going to be weighing my 5 new babies today. My problem is they are all black and no distinctive markings yet they are 2 days old today, she woke me up at 2 am Mothers Day and wanted me to sit right there beside her box while she have birth. I rescued the momma when she was a baby, she was in a parking lot up under a car. She don't meow.. just squeeks. We were getting ready to take her to be fixed and she got out and a neighborhood Tom got her.
My question is how do I tell them apart? Can I mark them somehow so I know who weighs what? Honey says a sharpie dot on the tail of one ,two dots for the second and so on...is this safe or is there a better way?Momma kitty is young and her first liter and I want to make sure they are doing good.Once they are weaned all will be getting fixed.
