I'm concerned with whether or not I should bring in my 7 month cat to the vet because I can't tell if his incision is healing like it's supposed to. Him and his brother both got neutered at the same time and I thought it'd be okay to keep them together but they rough house too much so I separated them temporarily (he's staying with a friend). I also didn't have a cone on either of them. It's been almost two weeks since the surgery and I can't tell if his scab is a good scab. I don't see pus and it hasn't bled for a couple days now. I've read it can take 2 weeks or so of healing (knowing it takes humans a while to heal etc) He's eating normal and his stool is normal. He's playful and shows no indication of pain. Before I separated them I was using unscented wipes specially made for pets to clean the wound, but it hasn't been bleeding lately so I didn't want to mess up the scab or anything. I just get paranoid seeing people post worse case scenarios. I need a second opinion to see if anyone has gone through a longer healing process with their cat and if I should take him in. It's silly, but I don't want to spend $60+ just for a vet to say it's fine and there is nothing else I need to do but wait for him to heal.
