Hello everyone ! I am going to neuter my 9 months old female cat next Monday and I am a little anxious about possible complications etc. Her vet said he is going to do a less invasive procedure than the traditional spaying and the benefits will be : smaller incision, pain reduction and a quicker return to normal activity. I am not sure but I think it is called ovariectomy; then the next 3 days antibiotics shots.
1. Are there any do's and don'ts before the surgery?
2. Has anyone heard about this new less invasive technique?
3. Any post surgery complications symptoms I should be aware of?
Any advice is welcomed. Thank you !
PS: My vet is just VERY positive and confident. Every time I ask for possible complications etc. he is just telling me not to worry. I would just like to be aware. He DID told me not to feed her after 10 pm the night before the surgery.
