It's been a few days since I have been on to talk about Nerm. He is now 8-9 weeks old. My 6 year old was trying to open Nerm's crate (he sleeps in a dog crate) and my husband told her "No, stop!" so she promptly slammed the crate shut. On Nermal. I was not in the room, and everyone was freaking out and nobody could tell me where the door actually hit him. My daughter thought maybe it was his leg. I took him out, poked and prodded him all over looking for sensitive spots. I agree it was most likely his leg, he was holding it kind of limply at first but he will bear weight on it, although he occasionally limps. I kept him quiet the best I could for a few days, and he seems to be doing okay, although he still limps periodically. I am guessing it is bruised/sprained/strained. So that was the bad news.
Earlier this week I had to attend a two day orientation for school, so my husband was left in charge of feeding Nerm for the first time. He is not good with the dropper feeding at all so I was worried. Halfway through the first day, he sends me a video. Nerm is drinking water from a dish, eating kibble and wet food. On his own! I worked so hard for this, and would he do it for me? Noooo! My husband feeds him once, and boom. Yesterday, Nerm gained an entire ounce, which is saying a lot since he is now only 12 ounces!!!
Should I just let him go to town on the food? Should I limit him at all or let him go wild? Let me know what you think!
