Hey yall,
OK I picked my cat up from the vet a couple hours ago. They were PACKED when I got there after work, so I had to wait around for over an hour before old Bumper was invoiced and ready to go. They gave me some take-home meds and quickly ran over the instruction sheet - but now I'm at home trying to do this, the vet is closed, and I'm confused as heck!
The dx was: Gastroenteritis
Basically he was vomiting and sorta listless and they couldn't find a good reason why. They gave me Famotidine (pepcid), Buprenex, Sucralfate, Clavamox, some Fortiflora packets & instructions to cook a bland diet, and.........Neo-Poly-Bac eye ointment (he had a little yellow eye discharge).
I'm good with everything but the eye ointment. I'm REALLY squeamish about eye stuff (human or cat). I can't even give myself eye drops - just cannot. do. it.
But of course I love little Bumpkin, so I'm gonna give it a shot. The aftercare instructions say: "Apply 1/4" strip to both eyes every 8 hours for 10 days. Start tonight."
And that's it. Where do I put it? On the lower eye lid (the "waterline" for us ladies who wear eyeliner?) Or do I put it directly into the eyes (gah I hope not).
This seems like it could go VERY wrong if I apply it the wrong way. The vet is now closed (of course, right) so I don't wanna make him miss his dose of this just because I'm dumb lol.
This is the medicine:

Do I do it just like this? The vet in this video is talking about asthma/hay fever eye ointment, so I'm not sure if this still applies to the ointment I'm using:
I just don't know whether to put this IN THE EYE (omg yuck! poor baby!) or on the lower lid. Help Bumper by helping me to not make a horrible mistake and put something where it's not supposed to go
Thanks!!
