When I joined this forum Neely was our solo cat. She was an owner surrender from the shelter. She had a very bad URI but I nursed her back to health and gave her my full attention. With time her coat became magnificent and she ruled the roost. She was a true diva, the queen of her domain and we thought she would live forever. Neely was part of our family for 10 years and we were shocked when we learned she had cancer of the mandible. She went downhill very, very fast. I was numb at first and in a state of disbelief. My only consolation is that we did not let her suffer and she would join our other cats and german shepherd/collie at the bridge. There are times I still expect to see her in her favorite spots.
