You may remember my posts a couple of months ago about the feral cat we were thinking of relocating to our home (HERE).
Tuesday of this week, we decided to put a 6' x 12' chain link kennel in our backyard so that we would have somewhere to put the cats / kittens we want to relocate to our backyard, as well as somewhere to keep the ones we aren't relocating while they recuperate from spay / neuter. Wednesday and Thursday of this week, we went to the church and saw only one cat and one kitten. The other three cats and eight kittens never showed themselves. We were worried because he have heard that others had trapped the cats there and taken them to the shelter. We were gutted, so we trapped the kitten, got her spayed and brought her to her new home (where she'll stay until she is older and is big enough to stand up to the adult cats in our neighborhood). *** BTW, did you know that a 3-month old kitten can escape through a chain link fence??? *** Luckily, she only ran under the wood pile when she escaped and we re-trapped her and lined the kennel with chicken wire so she can't get out.
This morning we went to the church and ALL THE CATS & KITTENS WERE THERE!
We hope to trap all the kittens over the next few days and keep them in the "holding pen" until next week and can get them all fixed. Some of them already have homes (yes, the people know they are feral kitties). We also hope to re-trap the mama cat (Polly) and bring her over to our backyard. There are a couple of adult cats that we will return to the church.
So .... we need trapping vibes - LOTS of trapping vibes - that we can TNR all these cats & kittens.
