I have an indoor cat which I received from someone and he is a wonderful thing, but I dont know if he has had any shots like for rabies, could someone please let me know exactly which ones he needs and so I can get them for him.

In cats, the suggested core vaccines are feline panleukopenia (distemper), feline viral rhinotracheitis, feline calicivirus, and rabies.

They point out, and many vets agree, that vaccinations against feline leukemia and FIV are recommended only for cats who might be exposed to other cats, or will be allowed outside.
Since you don't know what shots your new cat has been given, I would definitely leave it up to a vet you trust.
