Hello all,
This is my first time posting here! We have a 3 year old tuxedo cat named Knox. Well, last night we were playing with one of those string toys with her while watching TV. In the 1-2 minutes we weren't looking (stupid us), she chewed the string off and swallowed it! I would say it was about 6 inches to a foot at the most. It is a thin elastic string. We have already taken her to the vet and they gave us some Laxatone to help "coat" the string and maybe help it pass a little easier.
I know if she starts to not eat, get lethargic, vomit, etc that we need to take her in right away and she may need surgery. Has anyone else had any experience with their cat eating string? Did it pass naturally or did they have surgery? The vet said if she was going to get sick it'd most likely happen in 1-2 days and it's almost been a day. As of now, she is still eating, playing and drinking without signs of problems. I feel like a bad cat momma and that all of this is my fault! Any help would be appreciated!!
