Hi all,
I have a favor to ask of any members in the Cleveland, Ohio area (specifically, Willoughby, but anywhere relatively nearby is fine). Here's the deal: My mother's 82nd birthday is coming up in mid-April. Here's what we would like to do for her. My mother has had cats almost her entire life. My father died in 2001 and their 2 cats followed him a few months later. My mother moved to an apartment that does not allow cats. I don't believe she has even pet a cat or had one on her lap since then, and she sorely misses them. For her birthday, we would like to take her someplace where she can be around cats--pet cats, have them on her lap, have them around her--for perhaps an hour or less. I'm a bit at a loss for how to find such a place. Shelters can be depressing, particularly if the cats are in line for euthanasia--this is not the birthday gift I have in mind for her. What about either a no-kill shelter or a cattery? Please help (I'm in Florida--hard to do from here!)--does anyone have any ideas of where I could take her for a home-like environment where she could pet cats?
Thank you in advance if you have any thoughts on this.
Peggy
