Hoping for some advice from you good folks.
I have a cat named Scooter. He’s 9 years old, and is an indoor cat.
For years I’ve always fed him EVO weight management dry cat food, which I’ve always understood to be a good food for cats. (It should be, considering the price.)
A few weeks ago I noticed he would throw up early in the morning. It became pretty frequent, as often as every other morning. It seemed to consist of mostly undigested cat food.
So I took him to the vet. He suggested I try another food. When I asked the vet if he considered it might be a food allergy he brushed it off. He thought most likely it was an issue with the EVO food. I know EVO had a recall about 6 months ago and I thought perhaps they were having issues again.
The pet store I frequent suggested I try using Premium Edge dry cat food. I bought the Hairball Management flavor. Well, Scooter won’t eat it. I tried for a couple of days but he simply won’t eat it.
Yesterday I returned to the store and bought Premium Edge Weight Management. I brought it home and gave it to Scooter and he immediately ate it. I thought, “Great, problem solved!”
Well, this morning I came downstairs to find that Scooter hand thrown up again. Same issue as before, it looks like undigested food.
So what I’m wondering (and hoping you folks can help me with).
* Is there an ingredient in weight management cat food that could be causing the problem?
* What other cat food brands/types should I try since weight management seems to be the only flavor my cat likes?
Appreciate any advice. Thank you.
Dana
