Hello,
I am relocating to Austin, Texas in 3 weeks from San Diego, CA. I have two female cats, one is 4 , the other a little over a year old. I am concerned about the move (we are driving) and the emotional toll that this will take on them. When I initially got my little one, the two did not get along but now enjoy eachothers company and often play and sleep close to one another, etc. I am unsure if I should separate them into two carriers or put them together in a large carrier. I read a couple of past postings which suggested chamomile tea in water and vanilla extract to help neutralize the new unfamiliar odors. Also read a little on Nature's Remedy. My husband and I are taking separate vehicles so I am unsure if we should separate them or keep them together. Initially I looked into sedation, but upon further research have decided this probably isn't the best method. The drive will be two days so we have to stay overnight in a hotel , then are staying in an apt for 3 months before our new home is ready to move in. I love my cats and want to make the smoothest transition possible.
Does anyone have any advice ? Thank you so much! Happy new year
