Took new kitty George to vet today who gave me a free bag of a new cat food. I read the labels but it is still all greek to me.
Label states no meat or chicken by products.
Ingredients: chicken meal, brewers rice, whole grain corn, chicken fat, corn gluten meal, flaxseed, beet pulp, dried cheese, fish meal, dried egg product, brewers dried yeast, salt, calcium carbonate, potassium chloride, choline chloride, yucca schidigera, l ascorbyl 2 polyphosphate, taurine, mixed tocopherols, rosemary extract, beta carotene, vitamin E supplement, ferrous sulfate, zinc oxide, zinc amino acid chelate, magnanous oxide, niacin, coper sulfate, and a bunch more vitamins, I'm getting tired of typing them !
crude protein 32 %
crude fat 20 %
crude fiber 3 %
moisture 10 %
etc etc for the vitamins.
The big cats went NUTS over it. Will have to feed George by himself. Maybe kitten chow has better flavor, or they were just jealous. I don't know but George wolfed it down too. Just wondered. I know sometimes Vets push foods that are good for them rather than good for the animals. The receptionist said she was going to try some for her dogs as it was "hypoallerginic". Notice it is manufactured here in KC MO. Dont' know if it's elsewhere yet. Any help deciphering the ingredients and analysis would be much appreciated. Thanks.
