Need advice how to find low lower cost heart scan

Hi everyone!
I took one of my cats to the vet who said she needs an echocardiogram. The estimate was around $700.
Does anyone have any advice how to find a better deal?

Around here, they run the same price although I know that is not what you are asking. I have had them done in more than one place (the regular vet brought in his own ultrasonographer for the first one and the cardiologist did the second one) and they were comparable. You might call around, post on nextdoor.com and ask if anyone has any suggestions for another vet. You can google "directory of vets in NY" if that is your location, and also "veterinary cardiologists". You may find that the prices are not that different. One point with an ECG is that you want it done and read by a doctor who knows what they are doing and who can interpret it successfully. The cardiologist to whom I took my HCM boy objected to some of the recommendations of the regular vet and ultrasonographer. Ask who does the ECG as well.
