Hello All,

Just read that Nature's Variety has a recall out on their Instinct Raw Chicken Formula for dogs. Great. I am assuming they make this stuff in the same facility as they do the cat food (which wasn't mentioned) so I am wondering if that is safe to feed. I am going through a conversion of canned to this stuff for my kids, and have spent a lot of money on it but now am a bit nervous about what's going on behind the scenes with this company.

Are there any Instinct raw feeders out there, and what do you think?

Any and all feedback would be appreciated!

I have not heard of this until now. Here is the press release: http://www.naturesvariety.com/news/70 The recall current applies only to the frozen raw dog food. All other Instinct products (dry, canned, treats, freeze dried) are not affected.

I suggest calling Nature's Variety to ask if the frozen raw cat food is affected.

Given the recent voluntary recalls by Stella & Chewy's, Bravo, Vital Essentials and now Instinct, and, given that the FDA is on a witch hunt of sorts, against commercial raw only, and, given that the FDA have, in the past, used dirty / unsterile sampling methods to collect their samples, I'm keeping an open mind about all of this:

Of course it is. There's no logical reason to think that canned wouldn't be safe?
