I recently adopted a kitten and have been feeding him Natures Variety Instinct (Venison) since that is what I feed my other cats and I wanted to stick to the same brand. They do not make a kitten food and state that "Every Nature's Variety diet is complete and balanced for all life stages". Now I am wondering if my kitten is getting the most optimal nutrition not being on a "kitten food". Can anyone here with better knowledge of kitten nutritional guidelines take a look at the label I provided below and inform me if it is indeed a good food to stay on or if there is something missing that is cause to switch to a kitten food.

The food I am feeding him now.

The Kitten Food I might switch him to. Is it any better/worse?

You can stick with instinct but you have to feed him more as he is a kitten

How old is he? How much does he weigh?

How many cans are you feeding him per day? Is it the 3oz or the 5.5oz

Two 3oz cans a day with some dry food from Natures Variety throughout the day.

Feeding him Instinct is perfectly fine. I've raised many kittens on this food (our rescue feeds NV dry and canned with a few other brands of canned) and they are doing very well.

My only suggestion would be to rotate in a few other proteins (chicken, turkey, rabbit) unless this kitten has food allergies that prevents a rotational diet.

Congrats on the new addition!
