Nail growing from tail

hello
my cat has a nail growing out of its tail.. im quite afraid.
what disease is this? is this a serious problem or will it go away in a few days?

Can you upload a pic so we can see this please? Also, my first advice is if you are worried about your cat, make a vet's appointment ASAP.

Whatever the cause I would recommend contacting your vet so they can examine the tail and give a proper diagnosis.

Cats shed the outer coating of their nails every so often and you might find those anywhere. Could it be that that's stuck in his tail? I don't think it's any disease. A picture would really be helpful
