I have this 6 foot tall cat tree in my livingroom and at the very top is a basket that we call the crow's nest. My big alpha boy Archie loves that thing. Man the whole tree rocks when he climbs in there and he doesn't really fit.
But my BF and I will go over and play with him when he's in there - it's really cute.
Another cat - Tex - likes that spot... Heck - they all do.
But tonight, Tex was in there and Doug and I were goofing around with him... getting him to play, slap, bunny kick, etc. When all of a sudden....zooooommmmmm!!!!
Archie comes FLYING across the living room, up the tree lickety split and into the crows nest. He KNEW Tex was in there and just SAT on him!!! Tex is 9 lbs. Archie is 14 lbs!! It was all Tex could do to pull himself out from under and scramble to a lower platform, while Doug managed to pull Archie up off of him.
I guess the little green-eyed monster reared its ugly head!! He didn't want us playing there with Tex - Thats HIS thing!!!!
If I cat could scowl - Archie had this LOOK on his face. I tried to get Tex back into the basket. No way. He looked shell-shocked. So after a couple of minutes of laughing and petting the boys.... it all settled down... Arch went into the crow's nest and Tex found someplace ELSE to relax.
And yes - they are buddies... but friendship goes out the window when that coveted spot is at stake!
And the attention of the hoomins!!
