Hello All!

This is my new edition to my family Marley! I adopted(saved) her when she was six weeks old. So my vet says she looks like a ragdoll. I have no idea what that is.

I looked it up a bit, and found a little info. One thing that did stick out was that her fur is so soft. I call her bunny girl all the time. It's the softest fur I have ever felt, and I have a Maine coon mix and she isn't nearly as soft. Another thing that struck me as odd, is that her color is different. It's like a pure white, or something and her undercoat looks whiter than her outer coat. The last thing that struck me as odd, is that her nose was black. My brown tabby boy and maine coon x girl both have pink noses so I don't get it.

So here are some pix of how she looks now. You guys have any ideas?
Thanks for reading.

The blue eyes are pretty too!

Your gals nose is actually gray or what we call blue. She is a blue point domestic. She doesn't really cross me as being a breed and its entirely possible as domestic populations (strays/rescues with no recorded lineage) to carry the colorpoint recessive. Its not something you see outside but its a gene that once introduced can carry for generations and 2 carriers get together and you get a colorpoint.

Aww. thanks a bunch, maybe she is half, because I did see the mother when I adopted her and she was this color http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Bicolorchoc.jpg

She is such a cutie though. Even has some of the ragdoll characteristics, as I have notice from my further readings. I am not into showing/breeding cats but have nothing against it doing it the right way. I was just curious because vets do not know what they are talking about when it comes breeds sometimes.

So I thought I would ask you lovely people with some expertise. Any other guesses? LOL

She is cute. If the fur is super soft, there is a good possibility of the Ragdoll in the background. She's a blue point - her nose should be blue

She looks like a Raggy except for the head, which looks more Siamese/Balinese - too long and narrow for a Raggy head. Would be interesting to know who her parents were (I suspect a Raggy to a Balinese as you have to have longhair on both sides).

Her mom is a Seal Bicolor Raggy (carrying the dilute gene).

Most vets don't know breeds of cats unless they have clients who have more "exotic" breeds. Our vet never met an Ocicat till he met Charlie
Same with my Rexes.

Yes, Charlie is Handsome indeed!!!

Wow I had no idea what a Balinese was. I am not familar with breeds.

However yes, my Marley her fur is super super soft. Like chinchilla or fluffy bunny fur.

I at first thought she was a siamese mix. Also she is very vocal around the house, just meowing for no reason or she wants attention. Is this a trait of Balinese or Ragdolls?

You guys are so helpful here thanks!
