Those of you who live in North Texas know how the temperatures have been heating up the last few days. Well, seems my cats ADORE it.
Yesterday morning after breakfast, all 3 headed outside (cat proof fence) and began "prowling." I was busy inside most of the day and around 4 I looked up at the clock and realized they hadn't come in to beg for dinner, and they are usually trying to chew my limbs off by 2:30. I went downstairs and fed the dogs and called in the cats. No one showed, except Brillo, who was sitting on the back porch. I carried her in and showed her the bowl and she walked back outside without even sniffing it. I got a little worried and found both boys and they just glared at me when I suggested they come inside to eat.
At 6, I was really getting a little concerned. I took their bowls outside and the two boys ate, but Brillo just lapped the juice off the raw food and went back to lounging. At 9. Brillo finally came in and ate some kibble and eventually settled down and slept in the big bed as usual. The boys camped outside in the yard.
This morning, my hub said everyone ate, but then the cats darted back outside immediately. It will be interesting to see what happens this evening. Strange that they pick the hottest part of the summer to do their "hanging out."
Kitties---always keep you guessing!
