We have three kittens almost three weeks old and my momma cat keeps moving them under my bed so nobody can reach them. The vet says they need to be socialized but mom isn't happy about it. I picked up a play pen for cheap and planned to keep the kittens in there so they are contained. I don't want them under my bed when they start to walk around for fear I will step on one in the middle of the night. At what age do you think it's safe to move them into the play pen?

There is plenty of time to socialize the kittens. Most of the socializing occurs when they begin to leave the nest to play and eat. It does not hurt them to be under the bed right now. Plug in a nightlight and be careful if you get up at night for now.

Do you plan to spay mom after the litter weans?

That's great! Please just know that mom needs to stay 100% inside and away from intact males until she is spayed.
