We've had Tiggs for almost 10 years, which puts him at about 12 or 13 years old. For the past few years he has been EXTREMELY underweight. We've tried a product called Nutri- Cal for cats which is a high caloric supplement you mix into cat food. Unfortunately Tiggs won't eat his food with it in there, even if we put just a drop. I've very worried about him and nothing we do can seem to fatten him up. My dad thinks he might have cat leukemia because he used to not be able to keep his food down, but he's been fine with it lately . My theory is he is under stress since my whole family has moved into 1 house and now we have 3 other cats and two dogs. They all get along fine except for Tiggs who is very much a loner cat. The house is big but I still think it might be what's making him upset.
I've recently tried warming up half and half cream for him, which the likes a lot. Its 20 calories for every 15 mL which is about a tablespoon. He hasn't had any diarrhea or constipation, but I'm not sure how good it is for him to have cream. If anyone knows ANYTHING that might help to make him gain weight it would be much appreciated, we can't afford to take him to the vet. =(
Thank you!!
