A raccoon (Waschbär) - there are plenty in your area, too, fwan, though Kassel is the "Raccoon Capital of Germany". They were "imported" about a century ago, and have made themselves at home.
When we were living in the U.S., we used to get nightly visits from coons. We had metal trash cans with really tight-fitting lids, but that didn't deter them in the least. One got into our next-door neighbors' house through a torn screen, and totally trashed their kitchen, even to the extent of opening Tupperware canisters of flour and sugar.
The strangest nightly visitors we get now are wild boar! It's so strange to look out back and see some standing right outside the fence. They "stroll" right down Main Street at night.
