We found out that because of her high anxiety the pain meds weren't working as well as they should have been. But they didn't want to give her too much meds because they needed her responsiveOriginally Posted by sarahp
How are they managing her pain levels? I was on good IV painkillers initially after my heart surgery, then I took oral painkillers every 6 hours of whatever it was as I improved - the only time I was in pain was when I tried to lay flat for an MRI, and I just felt discomfort when I went from lying to a sitting position. I know I'm younger and tolerate it better, but she should still nt be in pain I would have thought.
Maybe next time you're in, ask what pain medication she's being given and how often. And maybe take the nurses some cookies
