I have two new 7 week old kittens. One male, one female. I have had them for a week. My neighbor just brought home two kittens yesturday, a male and a female, about 8 or 9 weeks old. I brought my kittens over to their yard so they could get to know each other. My female walked up to their female and they hit it off great. They smelled each others backside, gently touched each other with their paw and seemed content. Then their male kitten walked over to my female and they seemed to hit it off pretty good too. He was wanting to play though and tried to wrestle and chase but she kinda clamed up and walked away. Again, their male kitten has his tail high in the air, ears front and seems happy, he just wanting to play. Then he walks over to my male kitten and my male kitten bows, hisses and turns sideways. The neighbors male kitten finally walks away and goes plays. A few minutes later my male kitten walks over to him and does the same thing, hissing, bowing, sideways, but this time lashes at him. The other male kitten hisses back and we seperate them. Why did this happen? Aren't they too young to do this? Please help. I want them all to get along and since they are so close in age I was hoping they would end up playing together. Also since they live next door I really need them to get along.
